Bridge Club
Do you love to play Bridge? Well, this fun small group is for you! Couples, singles, ‘in-betweens’ all are welcome. The group usually gathers at the host’s home on a Saturday evening for a potluck dinner, followed by Bridge.
Choir
Choirs meets at the church on Wednesday evenings – 7:00 PM
The adult choir is an integral part of most Sunday worship services. In addition to hymns the choir presents a weekly anthem and leads the congregation in choral responses. In addition, the choir has special presentations at Christmas and at Easter.
The choir meets weekly on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM at the church except for July and August. There is a choir retreat the last week in September and the choir members plan a variety of social events throughout the year. This a great group of folks so come sing with us or come and hear us, whichever is your thing to do.
Church of the Foothills incorporates a wide range of music and worship styles – from traditional to contemporary and beyond.
Family Promise
Family Promise is a national ecumenical outreach program that provides temporary housing and food for homeless families with children. During four weeks of the year, Church of the Foothills utilizes volunteers to help provide meals and supervision to local families in need.
Comfortable sleeping rooms are provided at our church. It is a wonderful opportunity to put your faith into action!

Hearts and Minds
A group that exchanges time listening and sharing, secure in confidentiality and without advice or judgment. This kind of listening and speaking can be a healing practice for reclaiming our own good hearts and can get our brains out of ruts caused by old hurts we’ve experienced. We are building community and transforming the way we interact with the world.
Open and Affirming (LGBTQI)(ONA)
The Church of the Foothills Open & Affirming Ministry (ONA) is open to those in the LGBTIQ community and their supporters. Fellowship activities are held monthly, taking a variety of formats to ensure that participants find something of interest. It’s an active and alive group and we hope you join us.
Faith in Action (formally Peace, Benevolence, & Justice)
Our mission is the pursuit of Justice, Equity, and Fairness in the treatment of All Creation, in particular those most vulnerable in society.
We seek these things for all God’s children, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, age, ability, class or sexual orientation.
Soup Kitchen
Looking for a way to get your family involved in an ongoing outreach project in our community? Join the Soup Kitchen crowd as we prepare and serve lunch at our local soup kitchen, Southwest Community Center, on the fifth Sunday of the month! This is a great hands-on service project for children of all ages (four and up, well supervised). We also need help with four bake sales throughout the year to finance the lunches we serve.
Transgender Support
Our Small Group Ministries include two transgender support meetings. Both address issues vital to the transgender community, but with slightly different focuses.
“Shift Happens”: Meets the 1st Sunday of each month, at 6:00 PM, in Fellowship Hall. This group is focused on friends and family of Transgender children. Contact Sarah Tyler for more information:
ShiftHappens@gmail.com
“TG Rainbow” is a transgender support group open to everyone who is transgender, spouses, family, friends, or just wants to learn about what it means to be trans.
Women’s Fellowship
Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for women to share in lively conversation, fellowship, time and talents in a variety of ways such as quilting, craft projects, community needs, spiritual growth and study, assisting in church related activities and supporting members and friends through distribution of Prayer Bears.
We also provide Welcome Quilts for infant baptism, support missionary projects, make weekly donations of canned food and household items for needy families, and hold special annual events including Celebration of Women, Mother’s Day, and a Holiday Boutique fund raiser.
Worship Ministry
Please consider joining the worship ministry team!
Be a representative of our progressive church and help to make members and visitors feel welcome on Sunday. We need and so appreciate your help.
Tasks include:
- greeting members and visitors as they enter the sanctuary
- handing out bulletins
- helping to distribute communion
- passing the offering plate
- helping to prepare communion
- picking up in the sanctuary after worship
You are welcome to select all or specific areas where you would like to serve.
If you’re able to help (there is very little time involved and it would not be every Sunday)
