Advent Workshop & Los Posadas Dinner
Advent Workshop & Los Posadas Dinner
SO JUST WHAT IS AN ADVENT WORKSHOP?
It is a time for our whole church to begin celebration of Christmas season!
WHAT GOES ON AT THE ADVENT WORKSHOP?
Make over a dozen different crafts to get in the Christ- mas Spirit. Little hands need help making crafts, so TABLE ANGELS (adults that can assist) are needed. Kids LOVE making crafts, and a mess, and then taking their handmade crafts home.
3:00 – 5:00 PM:
SANTA COMES TO CHURCH OF THE FOOT-HILLS—New this year: Santa will be present! There is a Big Santa chair so youth and adults can have their pictures taken with Santa. Take the pictures home with you the same day. Dona-tion – only $5 – a LOT cheaper than the malls and much more fun.
5:15 PM’ish:
Clean up the FH a bit, practice the Las Posadas song, and get your candles and assemble outside in the Court-yard.
At 5:30 PM, a Melodrama begins with Mary and Joseph looking for room in an Inn, and Devils appearing (hiss, hiss, hiss) to influence the Inn Keeper to say “there is no room here”. We sing the Las Posa-das song as poor Mary and Joseph try three times to find a room – with the Devil appearing each time – until they finally make their way to in front of the Fellowship Hall, where the devil DOES NOT appear, and they are invited in, along with the rest of us, for a wonderful time of fellowship and a taco supper!
So Don’t Miss It!
